State running out of phone numbers; new area codes proposed (Republican-American)
Connecticut is running out of phone numbers in its two area codes and state regulators are preparing plans to launch two new ones. The latest projections have the 860 and 203 area codes running out of numbers in the next two years. The state Department of Public Utility Control is dusting off long-standing plans to introduce the new 959 and 475 codes, The Associated Press reports this morning.
